We believe that our world desperately needs a more decentralised and egalitarian economy and think that co-operativism is the best way to achieve this. We want to inform and educate people about cooperation and its benefits. At the same time we want to promote sustainable modes of transport and support other like-minded projects we collaborate with. We want to contribute to a vibrant, self-reliant community and empower ourselves and others by acquiring new skills.
Combining two of our greatest passions, coffee and bicycles, we’ve come up with a creative idea of overcoming the debilitating obstacles that most young start-ups have on their road to success. Running the business from a bicycle eliminates high start-up costs and allows us to successfully compete with the corporate chain shops which are hurting our local economy.
We’re a workers’ cooperative which means that we have equal pay as well as equal say in how the enterprise is run. The business is ultimately run by the team’s consensus and driven by our self-reliance and independence. We are happy that we’ve come so far, motivated by our social goals. We are hopeful and believe that this is just the beginning of our journey towards realising our potential as a group and working towards a better world.
The project started in spring of 2013 when we (Agnieszka, Zym and Daniel) came up with the idea of having a pop up café on a cargo bike. The aim of the project was to empower us and those around us by providing meaningful employment and hope for a brighter future. We’ve had our successes and setbacks since the inception of the project, but as our heads are still filled with ideas and our hearts full of energy the project is doing well despite a long way ahead of us.
Our core values revolve around those of co-operativism. We believe in open and democratic business model that can help us overcome our egos and work for the common good.
